Die DTSX®-Serie ist die neue Lösung für Wartungsanwendungen in Anlagen und anderen Infrastrukturprojekten, die eine Überwachung über große Distanzen bzw. Flächen hinweg erfordert.

Der verteilte Temperatursensor hat eine Abtastauflösung ab 10 cm und misst die Temperatur mit bis zu 50 Kilometer langen faseroptischen Kabeln mit einer Temperaturauflösung bis zu 0,02 °C (bei bis zu 10 km Länge).

Anwendungen sind u.a. die Erkennung von Gas- und Flüssigkeitslecks in Tanks und anderen Produktionsanlagen sowie die Registrierung abnormaler Temperaturentwicklungen in Stromleitungen.

Temperature monitoring throughout large plants without blank areas is difficult due to technical and cost issues and it is hard to comply with corporate HSE policies. DTSX measures temperature distribution over the length of an optical fiber cable using the fiber itself as the sensing element and it is ideal for temperature monitoring over long distances and wide areas. DTSX has been increasingly used in variety of applications such as fire detection, leak detection and preventative maintenance.
